The classes will be taught by Matt Baker, farmer and entrepreneur, growing and selling his own produce through his LLC, That One Farmer Guy. It is a year around organic vegetable farm in Bryan, Ohio. Matt has been growing and marketing vegetables for about five years, but Matt has been cultivating plants for over 20 years.  Using his 12,000 sq’ of high tunnels, he is always the first and last grower to market with premium tomatoes. The high tunnels allow him to specialize in early season, late season, and deep winter salad production. His business manages to grow about 25,000 lbs of hand-tended food annually!

Class Schedule:

9:00-10:00am Starting your own organic garden

  • For beginners: How do I choose seeds? How do I get some compost to start? How do I know where to lay out my garden?

10:00-11:00am Organic Growing 202

  •  For intermediate growers: covering more tips on pest and weed control, how to grow robust plants, and how to extend the season with plenty of time for questions at the end on specific crop varieties or problems.
